YouTube
So yeah a friend hooked me up to the best youtube link ever: A Band called MiniBosses, only musik they play are oldschool nintendo game themesongs, and they do em well. Brings back crazy memories. Here's one of them covering super mario bros 2 in all its glory. If ure interested, go look em up, they do up megaman, contra, mike tyson's punch out among other NES classics.

While i'm up here i might as well throw up a quick update with the goingons of island living. Had a chance to come back home for the american thanksgiving week and meet up with a few of my favourties (I'll be back again in a couple weeks). Ever since getting back to the island i've been living like a grandpa waking up at 6 and going to bed before 12 in order to get some morning surf action before school. Shoots there is no other feeling like being in the water at the crack of dawn and catching some early breaks and since it's so early not too many peeps are in the water with u, dont have to worry about lining up to catch the breaks. More just paddle out, catch the wave, paddle back, and repeat. And yeah man, for the first time in a while, i can make in time to McDicks to grab me a combo 2 (sausage and egg mcmuffin baby!). Shooots!

If u dont know already i split time right now between classes and doing school counselling at a hawaiian charter school and that's been a pretty big blessing just talking story with the kids and trying to help em navigate through tuff problems and issues. I'm close to getting a green light to teaching an elective up at the school which im pretty stoked about: IM going to be teaching music expression and creation on the turntables breaking down scratching, juggling and mixing for the keeds, which if u think about it, can be a really strong form of empowerment which allows a child to creatively express herself thru music. It's neato that that in itself can be regarded as a form of social work practice. So yeah, only thing i need to do is to get my decks flown over here, and pick me up serato so i wont have to buy any more records (instead i can hook up my laptop to the mixer and play my mp3s.

But jeah, life is alright down here. The temperature dropped recently...to 23 degrees. Don't hate. Appreciate. And come visit and i'll give u a free tour of the island living that is my life. Mahalos
