at long last... |
my rough draft for my undergrad thesis, which was 8 months in the making, hitting 39 pages, is dizzzzoneeee!! It's been submitted via email to my prof as of 3:15 in the AM. And i'm only like a month off of my original schedule to get the rough draft completed. To that accomplishment I have a baker's dozen of friends to thank:
1) Like peeling paint on my walls for being so distracting to watch
2) for the occasional beetle or flythat would enter into my room and force me to get up from study with tissue in hand, thanks!
3) For bloggers and xangas which have been fun to read
4) for ESPN live game updates and to a greater extent Yahoo Fantasy Sports which necessitate me checking ESPN live game updates to see how my players are fairing.
5) To my friends who have helped me along the way by talking to me on the phone, feeding me, eating with me, playing streetfighter at loud levels right outside my room forcing me to get up from my workstation to show and prove to the world who's game this really is, much thanks!
6) to my significant other, korea, for always being at arms length away, allowing me to twang my frustrations out, usually in the Key of E and G cause everything else hurts the fingers. yeah, I'm talking about you A flizat and E flizat minor.
7) to my capo which means i'll never have to ever again play in A flizat and E flizat minor
8) to my cut capo which means i can play everything in super easy mode and sound audiotastic
9) to my immune system which has stayed the course
10) to echinechea pills which have helped my immune system to stay the course
11) to youtube and thatvideosite dot com. You've taught me so much. From perfecting my kraft as a "Krumper" to opening my eyes to the world of urban ninjas. Thank you.
12)to my dependable PC which has yet to crash this whole year. They were all wrong about you. Including me. I guess the back up back up back up copies that I've made for this thesis aren't justified? thanks
13) But i cannot forget season 1 and season 2 of the Office, which has served as a comical reminder that working away on a project, could be much worse.
So the work is out of my hands (for now. Knock on wood. Let's hope editing and final prep is easy breezy beautiful cover girl). It seems like now it's time to get reaquainted with an old friend of mine... regular sleep patterns, save me a plate cause i'll be over later! |

so im knee deep in essays and thesis work so i'm going to save the more serious "hey look i'm graduating and i want to thank..." blogs until after i conquer these mountains. But until then, an update on hawaii:
3 weeks ago, i got this email from the Masters of Social Work secretary at the U oh H:
Hi Darren, I have your application before me and was just about to acknowledge its receipt. No decision has yet been made on your application. Can you check back with me again within three weeks? Hopefully, I'll have an answer for you by then. Aloha, Marlene Matsuda
so 3 weeks later, today, I sent em an email to check up on my status and got this as a reply:
I checked with the Graduate Division and they will work on your application right away. Upon receipt of their documents, we will then review your application for admission. Thanks for your patience.
Marlene Matsuda
... which got me a thinking. If Marlene had my application 3 weeks ago to review, why is she telling me now that my application is with the grad division? Just to clarify the way paper moves, is that it first goes to the grad division, and then sent to the specific department for admission review.
"I have your application before me" - 3 weeks ago
"Upon receipt of their documents, we will then review your application for admission" - Now
something smells fishy about these emails I've been receiving. But on the real, the waiting part doesn't bother me. Now that I have no timeline of when i should get word, it's like Christmas Eve everyday. But yeah thanks everybody for checking on me with this and now you know what i know. In the words of Marlene Matsuda, "Thanks for your patience"

the better than the furniture sale.... |
The Better than the furniture sale!. Since all of the furniture has been claimed I've decided to put the REAL goods on the market. We're talking about the items that i was real hesitant to put on the market but now i'm learning to let go so...here goes. Remember, first come first serve. I can't reserve anything for anybody cause that won't be fair.
It's a Goldshlager bottle that's 5/6 full. It's lost its novelty on me. I just don't think drinking gold flakes is cool anymore. I just don't feel any richer after taking a sip. But hey, if you love gold jewellery and gold plated scorpions and golddiggers, goldfingers and goldmembers, and u've got a heart of gold than it's time to add to the collection. Price: I'll trade you for your gold jewellery

Now you have the opportunity to live the lie and tell all your friends with this medal that u were on a dragonboat team and placed in competition! Price: Priceless. I mean chicks dig medal winners, right? You're practically an Olympian with this sucker around your neck. Good Luck fighting off the cougars.

it's an epson stylus c60 kids. Buy it while it's still hot! Price: $20
the "if there's ever a fire use this to go out ur window" chain. Hasn't been used yet. Price: Since this'll save your life, just save mine one time and we'll call it even
a different tune for a different mood. Let my CD collection take YOU back in a journey thru time. I've got what you need! Price: the whole CD tower consisting of over 60 CDs for the low low price of $50. Cmon freaking starcraft's there too and that's classssic!
Bruce doesn't say much but those words right there will get u thru some long nites of procrastination. Even now he's speaking to me. Telling me to finish up this blog and work on that essay. Let Bruce be the kick in your can! Price: $1
