glory

Drawing by a child survivor of the 1994 Rwandan genocide from here

Just reflecting off of what i've been learning but having much trouble accepting:

God is glorious and His glory is Not at stake by what we do. No matter what happens, God manages to bring glory to himself. The problem of evil (How can an omnipotent deity allow evil to be rampant?) is not a problem to Him but a problem to us. Through sin and evil, God still manages, although we may never see it, to extract his glory. We can commit countless genocides and still God manages to find glory in the end. It's tough to stomach. God has given us freewill to commit good and evil... unfortunately, it seems that the latter has a stranglehold over the former. Even when we freely choose good, and pray against evil, God does not have to oblige, if it does not run in accordance to His glory... cause we can never understand the full extent of His glory and how it manifests in this world or another. If I pray for a loved one who is sick to get better, getting better does not necessarily run according to His glory. If I pray for a lost soul who is spiritually sick to find the Way, salvation does not necessarily run according to His glory. I can't make any sense of it, and perhaps that is the lesson learned. That Rwanda, Nanking, all the wars and genocides all occur according to His glorious plan... which will never make sense to me because I lack the wisdom to see the bigger picture. And that instead of asking why, I should just throw my hands up in the air in surrender and let God be God and consciously allow Him to do whatever He wants with me... even if it doesn't run in accordance to my own will.

hurry up ...
... and finish those exams friends cause i'm getting mighty bored. But in the meantimes, think my toronto star crossword puzzle competion time is getting better with all this newfound time on my hands - a good 3 hours yesterday (with a couple words still missing) which is like watching Braveheart from start to finish. I should get a prize... a Nobel Peace Prize because my idleness is not causing any wars... yet. Ahh well, by the time I'm done reading the Da Vinci Code (look what I've resorted to), I think everyone will be done exams and ready to play with me =) But enough about me: Pass those exams! - Peaaaass (as in peace...not peter owen who threatens to peeee on my bed when i'm not around, which is a disturbing thought that keeps me awake at night...even more disturbing than the thought that catboy Toshio from the Grudge is directly beside me waiting to meeeeeoooww at me
CatBoy!<---- a picture of Toshio for the curious)

asianavenue 2?

As promised in post number one

Remember Asianavenue when that was the rave? I still remember when ppl did AA religiously trying to get more hits and referrals in order to score the sacred AA Tshirt or baseball cap. I remember even seeing ppl rock the messenger bag. But those were the days when ur selfesteem was dictated to an extent by how long your friends-list was...or by ur uber cool name. I mean millions of AA users must have thought they were serious hotties in order to have such a backload of usernames like AsianHotness213456 and SuperDuperSexyPinay9047585940344. Yeah but then again, maybe there were really that many asian hotties on AA. But I'm really one to talk since my AA name was dime_mecca which i translated at the time to mean "a little taste of heaven". I probably took that name at the time cuz "AsianSupermodel" was already taken.

Looking at Blogs and xangas now, i wonder if much has changed? Are we still staging a popularity contest? Well for one thing, this site doesn't have the "hit counter" or at least I haven't discovered it yet. There's no friends' list, and really the only time i know if anyone actually reads these words is if someone posts a comment. Haha at this point into my post, i officially have 2 friends, katz and cherhole, who have ventured forth comments (score 2 on my friends' list! yessssss!). But yeah, I'd like to think that maybe since the AA days, my life has gotten less superficial, that in creating a blog, I'm not attempting to hi-jack more of God's glory but am using this as a means to express my thoughts to those who care . But in comparing AA with Blogger, i am in a sense comparing my self of then to myself of now. Has my superficiality changed? Am I a bigger gloryhog then before? I guess change starts once u begin to ask yourself that and make a conscious decision to decide where the glory should fall. So as the old hymn singeth:

God is glory, we are mirrors,
weee little shaving mirrors at that
Where do we get the balls to even
try to steal the show from Him.

(it's at the back of ur hymn books)

a beautiful start
daily reflections from a budding rap artist waiting to be signed (thanks BMG!)

today was real sunny and my nose wasn't at all runny/
cause allergies have yet to kick in... oh i really hope they don't kick in/
cause if they do, i'll be forced to stage a sit in/
and hold in my snot like i hold my farts in/
like you do when u're in an important meeting/
or when you're at the library reading/
but the point is that today was a beautiful day/
i wished everyday would act this way/
I played softball and made some bad plays/
but if anything, i get softball confidence from watching the jays/
they're actually tops in the east and having a blast/
but i wonder... in a month, will they be last?
let's cross our fingers and hope, like me, that they stay snot free/
and when the "boom" fades from Hinske, it'll be replaced by Wells and Koskie/
and maybe this will be a year that i actually learn how to play/
if the weather holds up nicely, i might be a pro in may/
or not.

my first post
The first is the worst, the second is the best, and the third is the one with the hairy chest. As this proverb indictates, this is probaby going to be my worst post ever, being that it is my first. But the good news is that the next post will apparently be much better and then they'll just get hairier from there. Since this blog is brand spanking new, I am now faced with the task to build up some form of readership, and nothing grabs readers like a sexy provocative picture so here goes:

lincoln, josh, and dano: the epitome of sex.
Check back here soon! peaaaaas!
