in defence of my defence of robby

i know in our super speedy culture writing a post about babcock's firing is weak. As in last week. But a couple of things for the keeds. Me writing this post does not mean that i have some form of unhealthy emotional attachment to our former raptors GM, it's moreso me saying, "whaaaatt is up?" basketball and nonbasketball fans. I'm past the point now where I think i need to defend babcock's moves as a GM for our Canadian franchise. But i don't know man, I'm just kinda bummed about how everybody from the sports fan to the sports critique is really praising this firing thinking that this is a positive step forward for our raptors franchise. And you know now would be the time to insert a really deep proverb or truth but i gots none right now, cept this bitter taste left in my mouth... this bitter taste that cannot be sweetened even with the biggest spoonful of nutella. Oh no friends, this bitter taste cannot be fixed with a shot of proverbial sugar a.k.a. bringing in a real fantastic credible GM to take the helm. It's just knowing that when something goes wrong, you gotta get rid of it. Because Robby might have made some questionable moves, we gotta can him. And you know this ain't a good message to be sending to the keeds. In an age where the term "till death do us part" is a running joke, where we throw criminals in jail to rot or sentence them to death for breaking the law, we gotta ask ourselves if this is really what we want of life? is it better to discard than save? And i know talking about a sports firing might seem a little trivial... but what happened to robby isn't so much an isolated move but moreso a small tumour of the selfish deteriorating cancer that is this selfish culture that we live in. And i know. Basketball is business and what happened just happened because it's the nature of the beast. But isn't it a little unsettling knowing the message we're sending to the keeds? The weather forecast doesn't look so bright.

then what? do we hang on to mediorcity? ive had this argument before. maybe i got it twisted but it seems like its compassion versus capitalism. the hard part is where to draw the line?

when is enough enough? when do u have to put ur footdown versus sticking it out for longer?

    Bill Cowher - Pittsburgh Steelers

Now THAT is the great example of a franchise sticking by and believing in their personnel.
